A strong advocacy presence in Olympia and Washington DC. The upcoming 2012 legislative session will be another tough one. Due to the current economic recession and decline of real estate activity, the various document recording fees will not generate sufficient revenue in the 2011-2013 biennium or beyond to adequately fund critical state homeless programs like ESHP and THOR that are funded out of the Home Security Fund.

A nationally recognized training and networking conference HERE in Washington. This year’s conference, May 11-13, 2011 in Kennewick was another great success. Our attendees’ reviews were great on the speakers and workshops. We hope you will joining us next year May 16-18, 2012 in Yakima.

Public education to increase community support for ending homelessness. With the support of your dues payment and other contributions, we are working to add an interactive forum on our website for Ten Year Plan groups and WSCH board members, as well as enhance content for community members, students, the press and elected officials who want to know more about homelessness and what’s being done to end it here in Washington State.
