Mission: The
Seattle – King County Coalition for the Homeless is a coalition of
organizations and individuals working together to provide adequate and
appropriate emergency responses, address the causes and break the cycle of
homelessness.
The Seattle – King County
Coalition for the Homeless was formed in 1979. We have grown from five
shelters to over seventy nonprofit and governmental agencies, as well as private
individuals, which seek to advocate and educate on vital issues and public
policies related to homelessness and to sustain and advocate for homeless
services.
In addition to the general
meeting, SKCCH has 7 active committees. The committees each meet once a month.
All members are encouraged to join and participate in one of the following
committees:
◦ Advocacy
◦ Education
◦ Funding Resources
◦ Membership
◦ Families and Children
◦ Single Adults / Winter
Response
◦ Youth and Young Adults
◦ Steering Committee
